- Cotyledons elliptic to ovate, rounded tip, more or less stalked.
- Leaves entire, lanceolate, more or less toothed.
- Height: 5-15 cm. Plant more or less hairy. Principal and secondary roots slender and relatively lengthened. Very variable plant.
- Stem simple, leafless, curved-ascending, pubescent below.
- Leaves confined in a basal rosette, narrowed near the stalk. Leaves lanceolate, spatulate, not firm, green with forked hairs; no upper leaves.
- Flowers white, small in dense corymbose. Sepals (1-2.5 mm) equal at the base, petals exceeding the calyx.
- Fruit : silicule ovate or oblong, glabrous. Fruiting raceme short and loose, with spreading-erect pedicels. Seeds brown, 0.3-0.5 mm, numerous in each cell.
- Plant used in the past against whitlows. Scattering by wind, water and man.
