- Height: 10-50 cm.

- Stem spreading, often not longer than the leaves, glandular -hairy.

- Leaves lower long-stalked, up to 25 cm long. Leaves once or twice pinnately and regularly divided with ovate segments deeply pinnately cut.

- Flowers crimson to crimson-purple, 4-8 in umbels. Bracteoles ovate-acute, not acuminate.

- Fruit with a beak 2.5 to 4 cm long.

- Plant ornamental with a smell of musk. Used as diuretic and vulnerary. Rare in crops.

- Biological type: Annual or biennial.
