- Cotyledons elliptic to ovate, rounded tip, more or less stalked.
- Leaves entire, lanceolate, more or less toothed.
- Height: 10-40 cm. Plant glabrous, glaucous with a tap- root.
- Stem branched near the base, erect.
- Leaves lower opposite, later alternate. Leaves lanceolate, entire-margined, mostly green-blue. Lower leaves spatulate, broad and small, the upper and median lanceolate-cuneate, tapered into a thin point, early fall, glaucous. Whitish latex.
- Flowers yellow-green with a yellow crescent-shaped gland, in 3-5 rayed terminal umbel with numerous axillary flowering branches. Bracts ovate, mucronate.
- Fruit : capsule 3-angled, glabrous, keeled. Seeds grey, keg-like, sub-4-angled; red-brown and deep furrows on the sides.
