- Cotyledons clavated tip, more or less stalked.
- Leaves pinnately divided.
- Height: 20-100 cm. Plant pubescent with a lengthened principal root.
- Stem erect, terete, branched above, very leafy.
- Basal leaves in stout rosette ; leaves pinnatisect twice divided, segments linear to lanceolate. Leaves in outline ovate, at first 3-lobed, later one then twice divided with lanceolate segments. Leaves downy stellate-hairy.
- Flowers yellow-greenish, slightly marked, petals as long as the calyx.
- Fruits : siliquae erect and slighty curved linear and narrow (15-20 x 1 mm). Seeds ovate, elliptic, narrow, circa 1 mm.
- Plant's crushed leaves were used in herbal medicine on wounds and ulcers for healing. Herbal tea against diarrhoea and spitting of blood. Rare in crops.
