- Cotyledons elliptic, linear.
- Leaves ovate -acuminate, margin entire.
- Height: 10-40cm. Plant glabrous and glaucous with a taproot.
- Stem herbaceous.
- Basal leaves simple and spatulate. Upper leaves trifoliate with big stipules, very unequal leaves, the terminal leaflet is the longest. The later stipules are small and joined.
- Flowers yellow, small, 2 or 4 on pedicels a bit longer than the leaf. Inflorescence few-flowered.
- Fruits : legumes becoming hanging or spreading, 3-4 cm long, 6-obtuse angular, very curved, constricted between the seeds, striate. Seeds are toxic.
- Species protected in Limousin ( 01/09/89 decree) [France].
