- Leaves : basal leaves short-stalked, long, obovate, with an entire margin. Leaves elliptic, oblong, cordate. Cauline leaves sessile, clasping the stem by 2 broad and truncate pricks.
- Flowers yellowish or white-greenish (1-1.5 cm) in few-flowered racemes, on erect and straight pedicels. Calyx erect.
- Fruits : siliques tetrangular, erect, very long (5-14 cm). Seeds ovate, glabrous, 2-2.5 mm long, brown.
- Plant bolting with cereals and fitting its life-cycle with that of cereals. Rare in crops.
