- Cotyledons very narrow, elongated (>10 times longer than wide).
- Entire leaves elliptical to ovate, with entire margin.
- Height: 15-75 cm. Glaucous with tap root.
- Stem erect, round, branched towards top.
- Undivided leaves, rounded to ovate, surrounded with transparent boarder. Perfoliate leaves acrosing by stem with principal radiating veins.
- Yellow flowers in umbel 4-8 rays. Without involucre, involucels with erect ovate bracts around umbel after flowering and largely superseded after flowering.
- Fruits : achenes with 6 sides, ovate with visible side, smooth. Brown black achenes 3-3.5 mm. Persistent carpophore on inflorescence after fruit fall.
- Healing and astrigent plant. Species rare in crops.
