- Leaves entire, elliptical to ovate, with entire margin.

- Stem round, thick, hollow, strongly branched.

- Leaves of the base, ovate-elliptical contracted in a long stalk. Upper leaves amplexicaul, contracted above the base. Rough and with spiny hairs.

- Flowers blue, corolla 5-lobed rotate. Inflorescence in forked cymes.

- Fruits : big 4 nutlets, 5 mm longer than the perianth, rugose and brown.

- Plant with diuretic, sudorific and counter-irritant flowers.

- Biological type: annual.
