- Cotyledons lemon-shaped.
- Leaf entire, lanceolate, more or less toothed.
- Height: 20-40 cm. Plant more or less hairy.
- Stem erect, branched, glabrous below, glandular -hairy above.
- Leaves lower opposite, the upper alternate. Leaves linear -lanceolate. Blade scarcely hairy, cuneate in a short petiole. Median vein whitish, deep, prominent. Dark-green coloured.
- Flowers red-pinky solitary, axillary in the upper part of the stems, in racemes. Bracts dark-veined, exceeding the flowers. Corolla 10-15 mm, like a tube swollen and gibbous at base, without spur.
- Fruit : capsule ovate, hairy, shorter than the calyx. Seeds brown about 1 mm.
