- Cotyledons 8 times longer than broad, glabrous.
- First true leaves hairy, with 3 deeply lobed segments.
- Height: 60 to 120 cm.
- Stem erect, hollow, furrowed, downy below, glabrous above.
- Leaves up to 30 cm long, 2 to 3 pinnate, pubescent beneath; segments commonly 10 to 30 mm, ovate, pinnatifid and coarsly serrate.
- Inflorescence: Umbels of 2 to 6 cm diameter, terminal, the earliest somewhat overtopped by lateral branches. Bracts absent. 4 to 6 bracteoles, ovate, awned, ciliate, often pink. Flowers white (3 to 4 mm diam.).
- Fruits 6-9 mm, oblong ovoid, smooth, very shortly beaked.
