- Cotyledons elongated spoon shape.
- Entire leaves, rounded, with spaced teeth.
- Height: 30-100 cm.
- Stem richly divided with spaced hairs, especially at top.
- Lower leaves generally with 3 lobes, the others with numerous hairy lobes. opposed leaves with prostrate hair, ovate pinnatifid, with 2 or 3 elongated lanceolate segments with margin dentate to lobate on each side.
- Flowers: pale yellow in unisexed capitulum, male flowers half- crossing grouped in terminal spike-like raceme, female heads numerous on the axils of upper leaves, every capitulum 10-15 flowers.
- Fruits: small 4-5 mm of long, longer than large, cylindrical almost smooth, fitted under the top with verticil of 5-6 erect and pointed spikes, terminated by almost entire beak.
- Existence triazine resistant population in U.S.A., Canada, Yugoslavia. Toxic plant, bitter, emollient, used in America as vermifuge and against nose bleeds.
