- Entire leaves, elliptical to ovate with entire margin.


Adult plant snapshot Adult plant:

- Stem prostate,trailing on ground, branches clustered finely divided 20 80 cm long.

- Leaves entire alternate, glabrous, with plain margin and with clear lamina, obovate, spatulate,15 20 mm, often reddish.

- Inflorescence in axillary tuft, the bracteoles are triangular and pointed, green or reddish. Perianth composed of 4 5 elongated pieces unequal in length and large.

- Fruit smooth and dehiscent, slightly spherical 2 mm.

- Triazine resistant populations in Israel and Spain.

- Risk of confusion with Amaranthus hybridus L. and Amaranthus blitum L. at seedling stage.

- Biological type: annual.
