- Cotyledons elliptical club shaped, more or less petiolate.

- Entire leaves, elliptical to ovate, with entire margin (lower face coloured in red purple).

- Height: 10 50 cm. glabrous. Stem erect, sometime prostate, very branched, generally glabrous, whitish

- Leaves more or less glabrous, with margin wavy, white small (3 5 x 1 2 cm).

- Flowers: green colourless sharp and rigid, outgrowing the 3 sepals, disposed in tuft often by second axil of leaves. Tufts often adjacent.

- Fruit : dehiscent.

- Triazine resistant populations exist in Spain.*

- Risk of confusion at the seedling stage with all other species of Amaranthus genus.
