- Cotyledons elliptical to ovate, with rounded tips, more or less petiolate.
- Entire leaves, elliptical to ovate, regularly dentate.
- Height 10 20 cm. Hairy plant, rough entirely herbaceous with strong smell.
- Stem palmate, erect or prostrate.
- Lower leaves in rosette; leaves ovate hairy, rough. Leaves deeply divided in 3 segments spread one from other. Later leaves sometimes moderately indented.
- Flowers vivid yellow (5 20mm). Solitary flowers in axil. Corolla marked by 4 small reddish stains. Upper lips very short.
- Fruit: mericarps (2,5 3 x 1 mm). The 4 parts of the fruit rounded at tips without hair, wrinkly on surface.
- Aperitive plant, tonic, febrifuge, used against apoplexy. Frequency: rare in crops.
