- Leaves green, branches clustered on panicles effuse and spreading.
- Inflorescence: Panicle can reach 25 cm. Stem smooth not prostrate. Spikelet of 2 mm disposed in one oblong inflorescence, the clustered branches of which are unequal. Unequal glumes, upper twice the size of lower. Glume remains on the stem after shedding.
